... yako, I had a vague notion of where my hotel was, but planned to use the tourist map at the station (there's always one there) to locate it. There was no map. I started walking, looking for the hotel name. All the signs were I. Japanese, as was the map I eventually found. I painstakingly compared the kanji characters until I had a match. Luckily it was the first one I 'read' and the hotel beside me.

There are a few things I should have learned ...

After Kevin damaged his calf he was extremely disappointed that he couldn't ski....that's the more polite way of expressing how he felt anyway!! He was very anxious though that I should get the most from the holiday and insisted that I attend my lessons and ski as much as possible. ... to try and not get spooked on steep slopes and take them more slowly....face down the hill however high it is!!! All easier said than done! Last night we went into the village and met some friends from Tokyo at a restaurant.
