... a couple birthdays. Happy birthday Pedro and Justin!!

Thank Mrs. Chu for organising a terrific trip! We wish we could stay longer its been such a great trip and learning to ski and snowboard has been so much fun. Next year we want to stay one more day pleasssse!!!!

... the traverse was flat, which is very difficult for boarders to maintain their momentum, and so Pat and Micko had to keep unclipping their bindings and trying to skate, but then finding their legs sinking into the powder up to their knees or even higher! We had a very comical episode at the start of the traverse where Micko was in front of the rest of us, but he didn't have a lot of momentum, so he kept slowing down and getting in the way of ...

... and fast friends after we bought Kimono together. Apparently the snow was so heavy in Sapporo that no planes could land, which was annoying for us but also very exciting because that probably meant that the snow was going to be incredible. And we weren't wrong! Driving to the ski fields from the airport we were passing huge banks of snow on either side of the road, and the snow continued to fall all that night and for the majority of the trip so far. ... ski tracks. Pretty effing rad to be fair. Feeling energised (if not knackered). But I mean, how many people can say they had a picnic in the middle of a ski run!? The views are just unbelievable. You can see so far and so wide. I'm getting super keen to go check out some traditional temples soon tho.
