... a tourist. We found out that he is from Hong Kong and was on his way to Sapporo tonight and then to Hakodate tomorrow. I thought he didn't look Japanese and his English was way too good.

We had a pleasant chat about Japan and where we had been and gave him some advice about going to Hakodate market at 5.30am. He told us about the political unrest in Hong Kong for the past two weeks. He was a photographer and showed me his full frame Nikon camera as well ...

Well the dinner was great and I was privileged to see the crew in a relaxed non uniformed environment. I got to see a lot of the crew I had not seen before from below deck. ... first imagined......our toes fingers and toes had gone numb, but we ventured forth.... then one of my snow shows broke....this was not going to be fun :-/......in an effort to explain my predicament i stepped forward and sunk past my waist....Ok so we need to go back....I McGuyvered the shiz-nizel out of my snow shoe as we ventured straight down through the snowdrift toward the chairlift...not realising as neither of us had been skiing that chairlifts go ...
