    ... and was met by a monkey sat at my head height it gave me a bit of a scare! I didn't really realise quite how free to roam about they would be! The main attraction of the park is the onsen(hot water caused by volcanic activity) which the snow monkeys use to keep themselves warm during the harsh winters in Northern Japan.     ... broke and we could see the alps and Mt Tateyama surrounding us. It wasn't that cold, surprisingly. We then took a Tunnel Trolley bus across to the ropeway at Daikanbo. I had just bought my nice, hot sweet potato but on trying to take a photo of the arriving cable car, it fell out of its bag and went splat about 3m down.
