Ah, e os Japoneses são tão simpáticos quanto dizem: Os mais idosos quando passava por eles, faziam sempre uma vénia rápida e diziam "Ohayou gozaimasu" e alguns dos mais novos olhavam e faziam uma vénia enquanto andavam. Todos nas diferentes lojas que visitei foram imensamente prestáveis e simpáticos, dizendo sempre um muito energético "IRASSHAIMASE" quando entrávamos na loja.

... at the JR train station the tourist information staff showed me a sign saying that 200 metres up the road is another tourist information with English speaking staff. For ordering a meal in a restaurant it was crucial that they have pictures on their menu. Paying in a super market meant handing over notes with both hands, nod and smile to what they say. I basically understood nothing what they said, but I'm still convinced that it was something very polite.
