The hotel at the airport was, well an airport hotel so not much write home about… but Japan on the other hand…

Can’t wait to chat to our Japanese friends back at JSK to explain what a country they’ve got.

For the last day we decided we had to travel up the valley to Happo, site of the 1998 Japanese Winter Olympics. Breakfast was a fine affair and Thomas was in heaven when we realized that the hotel had one bottle of HP sauce! We got down to Hakuba and left the kids with the ski school. Thomas was hilarious, saying he had done it before and could go up to the top of the mountain! Isabel was quieter but confident.

We then headed up the mountains and enjoyed some great skiing…Sinead was calm and cool ...

... after getting lost in the railway station (a recurring theme of our holiday!) we got there. It was great fun to walk across with people coming at you from all sides.

It was getting late so we grabbed a quick McDonalds, jumped in a taxi and off we went. We got back to the hotel and said our goodbyes and were off for the bullet train. The Park Hyatt was definitely one of the best hotels we’ll ever stay in and the kids ...
