Our stop in King was a trip down memory lane for Kent! He grew up in King, NC and we got to see lots of friends and family. Our camp site had a beautiful view of Pilot Mountain. In the Andy Griffith Show it was called Mt. Pilot which was the town outside of Mayberry. The Dairi-O serves the best Carolina style hot dog ever and it was our first stop for lunch! It use ...

Cheryl got a salad with pulled pork and I think most everyone else got chopped pork dishes. Oh, Susie got a salad with breaded chicken. Sweet teas were the most popular drink at the table.

The waitress dropped off the orders and then plopped down two huge baskets of hushpuppies on the table. One ...

    Leaving Chimney Rock

After a great nights sleep we woke up about a little after 6:30, had our coffee and "woke up" then pulled everything together to leave. We had hoped to be on the road by 9:00 and wonder of all wonders we pulled out of the campsite about 8:25. Stopped and dropped the trash off and headed to Clemmons. Interestingly enough we realized we were only about 10-12 miles from Fletcher so we tried to think of ...
