... of Shanghai to a city called Shaoxing. It is an ancient city on the southern shore of Hangzhou Bay. It recently celebrated the 2500th anniversary of the founding of the city. Talk about ancient! Shaoxing is famous for traditional Chinese bridges and is in fact known as the city of 10, 000 bridges. We visited one of the oldest bridges which has been deemed a UNESCO World heritage site. ... the years. To exit the building we had to pass 3 different gift shops (of course!) Exit through the gift shop!

Our return trip took longer than planned. We could not hail a taxi (apparently they all take the same hour off to have lunch and put gas in their cars if they need it) so we had to take one of the tourist buses. We had it to ourselves for most of the trip and even had a driver who would dance at stoplights! Better than the driver who read the paper ...

... program last summer so I have an unfair advantage over others but it still is an excellent confidence boost to be able to not be behind (in terms of comprehension and understanding) in a Chinese class for once. This confidence has taken a lot of the pressure I put on myself last year off of me. The fact that I don’t have tests or homework right now and I 'm only studying for knowledge is another factor contributing to my lack of stress and pressure. ...
