    ... forward to today.

Visiting this house reminded me I could live anywhere as long as there was water. I also felt very comfortable in the isolation of its location. I am sure many others feel the same. It is designed in and out with harmony, embracing ones needs but embracing the land. It is simple, not extreme. I never thought I would describe a house as "incredible" but it is.

I am very thankful for this experience. We all are.

Because the boys aren't 16 yet, we couldn't do the really impressive Upper Yough part of the river which is one of the best places East of the Mississippi to challenge Class V rapids. Instead we did the Lower Yough with a guide in our boat and took on some Class III rapids instead. The kids were stoked about it and, the rapids didn't dissappoint. It was just the right balance of excitement and almost-bouncing-out-of-the-raft for the boys ...

... by Saturday 10am when we hit the road. A tank full of gas, a cooler full of ice, and we were ready to head East.

There is nothing like the start of a road trip on a sunny summer the familiar road fades behind me it feels like the world is my oyster, that adventure is just around the corner, and as the music from the stereo joins the hum of the miles slipping by under the tires I can feel the worries and stresses of ...
