    Today we set out for Harvard.  It was our first use of the trains here in the US, and whilst the trains and stations we used were a bit 'old and tired' the system works and seems efficient.  It was like being on the London underground.     ... depressing! Perfect example happened today. We got about 5 inches of snow overnight and then continued in the morning. It was a good kind of heavy snow, the awesome packing type, and looked so beautiful when I left my apartment at 8am. Walking in it was admittingly difficult, albeit lack of removal, but it was still doable. When returning home 6.5 hours later, everything was already melting and slushy, leaving a huge mess and giant puddles of freezing water. ...
