    ... Whitewater River was amazing. While only maybe a foot deep in the deepest sections, I was actually able to lay flat and submerge myself in the river to get wet and cool off. It felt so good in this 90 degree heat. I treated water to drink here, had lunch, and took an hour siesta in the shade by the flowing creek.     Have you ever experienced the animals and plants in the middle of the dessert? Well, Joshia Tree Park is the perfect place to go to experience nature. My family and I went to it and we started the trail. The trail was a circle from beginning to the end.     Day 1 in Pallm Springs arrives true to form. It's 80 by 8 o'clock and 100 at noon! Plans for the day are pretty minimal......fill the cupboards, find a chiropractor for Dianne's aching back, a doggie daycare for Jake and begin to familiaize ourselves wih Palm Springs.     ... was a trail there with interpretive signs showing how the native Indians had lived there in such a desolate environment. Also lots of info about the plant life and the many different cacti and other plants growing there. Hard to believe anything could survive in that environment.
