Spent the last couple of days in Abilene, TX. Mostly uneventful drive, but we did have to stop a couple of times and fix a piece of weather stripping that was flapping around on the camper.

We arrived in town hungry with no food in the camper (yet again), so we thought we'd go out for dinner. We have a gift card for Olive Garden, and Dean loves ...

There just isn't much to write about while crossing this huge state on I-5. Texas is such a large, flat state. The trail consists of mostly old jeep or gravel roads. Very exposed for the most part. - Park rents kayaks. We saw a few people kayaking out on the red lake water. Weather: hot - high 90’s during the day to mid 70’s at ...

Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. ~Mark Twain Garrett County is a wonderful place to raise a family. Every trip to town means unexpected encounters with friends and family. Our kids are the fourth generation to shop and go ...

    Abilene Texas/Bent Wheel Bash

A travel blog entry by loriwatkins on Mar 15, 2013

For the Bent Wheel Bash, there was camping on location available but nothing with hookups. Jeremy wasn't too keen on sleeping without air conditioning so we opted to stay in a hotel for this race. By next year we will have a generator to solve the AC without hookups issue. The race was good and everyone had a lot of fun. The course is at a police training center. I've never raced past fields of broken glass before, lol. The course is ...
