... we had breakfast at Cracker Barrel and then went to Wally World to pick up stuff to make brunswick stew and corn souffle for everyone. After they visited for awhile and played some games, and I watched a couple of football games, we had a tasty dinner, and then said our goodbyes.
Again here, not much to say, just on the road from Texarkana to Tye Texas. The biggest highlight today was going through Dallas Texas. We actually took the ring road but that was a distance of 55 miles, one and a half hours, with traffic and all! What an experience. Actually was better than we expected. Actually, the title to the song "Abilene" is about the Kansas town, not Texas. That's okay as the song still fits here. We had a wonderful three days in Abilene and had a chance to walk around down in the old part of town. As I write this, we've been home for several weeks now. It's been hard to sit down and finish this blog once we got back home - and then had to prepare for going back to Austin again for our youngest daughter's 21 Sep wedding.
By this point in our trip, we were ready to get back to Austin to see the kids and grandkids. Abilene was just a quick overnight stop, and we were on the road again.
... our family's shining moment - I dropped Iris' plate of food, then she later freaked out about a bug she saw on the table. But we still enjoyed the moment and had a good laugh.
Talked to some of the people staying at the park for some ideas about where to go and stay next, mostly because we feel completely lost and not sure where we should go next.
