... the three hour barrier at this marathon, as my time in Rome in March was just over 3:06:00 and the longest training run for that was 15 miles. For this run I've done at least 4 runs over 20 miles. The weather is supposed to be cloudy and windy tomorrow but hopefully the rain will stay away until the afternoon. It's going to be an exciting ...

... it resembles a ghost town by comparison with what I was about to encounter. When you see even a KFC with "closed down" on boards nailed across the door, you know something's gone wrong! (Or right, depending on how you feel about fast food chains...) I had my first glimpse of the horseshoe falls as we crossed the rainbow bridge, at the end of which is the border crossing into Canada. Fireworks were ...

Again, he is one of the most famous historic Canadians, but I have to say before this trip I had never heard of him – and I really like military history. American learning of the War of 1812 is only about 1) USS Constitution, 2) Star Spangled Banner, 3) Burning of Washington, 4) Battle of New Orleans. But right as we got to the top we got a ...

... is that the water depth at the top of the falls is ony 2-3ft deep which amazed me. You could easily stand at the top of the falls - the only issue would be that it is flowing at 60mph - so wading is probably out!

The vision of the falls and the lead up to it will remain with me forever, and there aren't many things that you see in life which you know immediately, will be etched into your mind's eye, so I felt very lucky. And I hope some of the pictures can give ...
