    I don't recall how I came across this place when planning the trip but we were both very glad that I had it on my list of roadside stops. One man built and maintains this beautiful and touching oasis. We found it very moving and a good balance to the frivolous things we had been seeing.

    It's incredible to see just how big an impact the newer I40 has been to the local towns.

    The Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ in Groom, Texas was an awesome, heartwarming experience. Starting with the 190 foot Cross that could be seen for miles, down to the life size bronze sculptures depicting The Crucifixion of Christ was an unbelievably humbling experience. Truly a work of love.

    WE left Carlsbad this morning in sage brush country and I expected this all day, boy was I surprised. Once we got out of oil country we hit some of the best agriculture we have seen.
