We tried Skyping Mat for his birthday (it was already the 16th in Perth) but couldn't get through.

The alarm went off at 6:15am Central European Time, which, as my unadjusted tablet was so kind to remind me, was 10:15pm Mountain Time on the night before.

We let the kids sleep as long as possible while the adults packed up and ate at the impressive HIX breakfast buffet. We all got over to the airport as planned and the kids were able to eat breakfast in the contract lounge.
