After 132 days of preparation, planning and anticipation, our day of departure finally

Instead of hightailing it out of Kansas, we stopped at the Prairie Museum in Colby, and it was great. In addition to the kids being able to ride the vintage coin-operated horse, we were able to go into the late 19th century sod house and touch the household items like a very heavy iron and the waffle iron, and the one-room schoolhouse where teacher Sophie gave a lesson.

Left Hotel at 5 this morning to get early flight to Denver so we could connect then to Sacremento.

Arrived in Denver to a snow storm - was amazing to see so much of it but boy we were soon awake when we had to leave the plane. Didnt have to walk outside to find out how bloody cold it was.

... peanut sauce and I had gone out shopping with Gail earlier and bought a bottle of 2009 Jordan cabernet sauvignon which we had with dinner which was exceptional. It was great for me to be able to drink this wine in Denver with the people who all used to rave about it while I was growing up.
