    ... dark. Again, we had to move quickly to get all of the stuff out of the back of the car into the front - but it was a little easier this time since I knew where we needed things to go. We accomplished getting the car ready to sleep in within about 5 minutes.     We spent today in Carlsbad Caverns in southeast New Mexico. It was very educational, but more it was incredibly beautiful and awe inspiring. The caves are magnificent. We entered through what they call the Natural Entrance. It takes you on a mile of steep switchback trails that bring you to the Big Room. It was a bit cold down there in the 56 degree temperatures, but compared to the 105 degrees up top, I found it quite refreshing. We actually ate lunch down ...

    I arrived at the Montosa RV Park and am welcomed by Art, Arthur Rauschenberg. It is about 3 PM. I want to get to the VLA by 4h00, tour the site and then take pictures of the sunset. Art is very talkative. We start chatting and a half hour passes. Somehow I break away and get my trailer set up. I want to be back on the road in the morning. I arrive at the VLA shortly after 4 PM.
