        We spent today in Carlsbad Caverns in southeast New Mexico. It was very educational, but more it was incredibly beautiful and awe inspiring. The caves are magnificent. We entered through what they call the Natural Entrance. It takes you on a mile of steep switchback trails that bring you to the Big Room.         I arrived at the Montosa RV Park and am welcomed by Art, Arthur Rauschenberg. It is about 3 PM. I want to get to the VLA by 4h00, tour the site and then take pictures of the sunset. Art is very talkative. We start chatting and a half hour passes. Somehow I break away and get my trailer set up. I want to be back on the road in the morning. I arrive at the VLA shortly after 4 PM.
