Left a sunny Shelby, MT at 1030 riding southbound on a deserted secondary highway with a hard following tailwind. A tailwind makes biking all the more enjoyable as it minimizes the buildup of air on your chest and face. I experimented with windshields in the 90's but never found a suitable one and I have eschewed them ever since, sticking with the …

This was I'm the Bighorn National Forest near Bald Mtn. We stopped so the boys could check out the snow. They said it was cold. No, really!? I guess it was novel to see it in July when it was 72* out. ...

    Yellowstone Traffic

A travel blog entry by holmesontheroad on Aug 13, 2012

Yellowstone is AMAZING!! Today we got to experience Yellowstone traffic when a heard of bison decided they had the right of way on the road. We got some amazing pics that we'll post later. These bison were huge! One enormous bill challenged Troy for his lane--the bison won as Troy drove off the road to give him room. We were so close to them that if we were brave (er...stupid) we could have reached out the window and touched them. We did get a big whiff of them--they are very stinky ...
