... wore these weird floral headbands. We were the only people in the whole town not wearing them, but don't worry we looked gorge anyway #socksandsandals We found a hotel lobby, ate our lychee and slept for a couple hours until we could get back on the coach (bumpiest journey ever #turrrrbulanzzz). An interesting day trip showing us just how much we LOVE shanghai!!! (And also how much i want a good camera with a long lens to take more beautiful photos ...

... in fact inside the various lush hotels dotted around the region... So the "walk" was in fact touring all the hotels oh.. We ended up in Fuxing park where we saw a lovely statue of Marx and Engels , and took some lovely photos. Thankfully the park led out onto a busy commercial street and we were soon blessed with some air conditioning in H&M. Strolling along the streets, we ended up getting some frapps ...

As soon as we reached the ticket gate, again our students were the centre of attention. If you can image the tourists from North China who were here in their bus loads were very keen to have their photographs taken with our students! ... impossible’, and we would never have gotten through the town as quickly as we did and stopping in at 6 mini museums along the way as well! Xitang was lovely and quite a maze of narrow streets as well as quaint canals (but commercialised) ... with shops, souvenirs, food stores everywhere we walked. Tom Cruise even filmed a part of Mission Impossible 3 there!

After 2 hours of (Tom) cruising the Xitang scene, we hurried back ...
