... depicting Mao Zedong and his soldiers gallantly defeating the American "imperialist army'. Very interesting! Back to the hotel and a visit to the nearby Starbucks for a coffee and sandwich before heading out to the theatre to view Chinese acrobats in an amazing performance of skill and agility. Another very full day! Still no photos. Sorry! I have added another entry from Chongqing and hope to get the cruise entries completed ...

Following lunch, we strolled back canal-side and took a ride on gondolas seating six passengers each. Similarities between these gondolas and those in Venice is striking! The gondoliers used the same kind of single oar to propel us under bridges and past traditional scenes of life in Zhujiajiao. It was a pleasant way to start the journey!

Our walking was at a slow pace as it is so picturesque!
