... for about 70 miles advertising for "South of the Border". The ads were hilarious so we thought we should stop in at this store. When we got there it was a mini city. Everything from rides to an alligator exhibition. Too funny. We stopped in Roanoke Rapids for the night. No rain but overcast and humid. Had a late dinner then went to the hot tub for a bit. Not a hot tub, more like a warm tub. Staying at The RV Resorts @ Carolina Crossroads. Very new, but very nice for $30 ...

When we got there it an entire village of mexican amusement rides, eating places, rest rooms, souvenir shops etc. Too funny. We decided to try one ...

... They seemed to be well fed as most weren’t interested in the food, but rather honking at each other and fighting to determine the pecking order of the flock. However, there were a few hungry flamingos more interested in food than with conflicts within the flock. Feeding these birds was quite an experience. I had seen flamingos plenty of times in the past, but this was the first time for an up-close encounter. Their curved beaks are ...

    What a miserable place!
It's hot as hell, the water in the pool looks like someone poured milk into it, and there is nothing to do in the area.
This is our own fault. We completely spaced about the holiday weekend and this was the ONLY place we could find available anywhere near where we want to go next.
    Boo for us.
We completely understand why this place is for ...
