On our last day in Augusta we drove back through the Boranup Karri Forest section of the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park. We drove on a dirt road through the forest which was dense with tall, straight karri trees and lush green undergrowth. Very beautiful. We then headed out to the coast to Cape Freycinet and North Point. Along this section of the coast there are huge granite boulders on the water’s edge that have ...

... who were doing just the afternoon tour. Next stop was the Venison outlet, including tastings of about 6 different meats, plus a pate, which were all delicious. The owners daughter gave us a rundown on the products, obviously venison is similar to kangaroo and only has about 1% fat. From here we went to another winery Evans and Tate, once again tastings of about 5 reds, 5 whites, port and a Moselle. I know they were only tastings, ...

... felt a little underdressed when people arrived by helicopter. We then went to our second hotel by the beach. There was a world pro surf competition the next morning so we got up early and went to check it out. It was really busy and a lot of fun. In the evening we watched the football and then joined some of the Irish guys from the precious hostel for a ...
