... walk more near the Canadian Falls. It is all downhill to get to the Falls, but it is
very difficult on the return. Not sure we would be able to do this when we got much older, lots of stairs and everything is a steep climb.

Rich made reservations for dinner tomorrow night at the Skylon Tower. Not sure how many floors up it is, but it is a revolving restaurant.

    Until next time...

Yesterday Addie and I set off for our first major road trip together. We've done a couple of weekend trips, but nothing quite like this. 15 days, visiting the shores of all 5 Great Lakes.

I knew I wanted to do another road trip this fall, and when I was perusing the map, I decided on the Upper Midwest. When I came east two years ago, I was struck by how beautiful the center of our nation is, and how little I knew ...

Once we left the boat, we walked up the Main street towards the backpackers. It was a full on circus!! Picture Movie world, Dream world, wonderland and a bunch of county carnivals .... then stack them on top of each other and cram them all onto a street. That was the main area of Niagara. There were people EVERYWHERE!! ...

... falls in all their lit up glory. With the battery on my camera telling me it was flat, and no new ones to hand, I just managed to get a couple of shots in, but they don't give you much idea of how the sky exploded into every colour in the rainbow for several minutes. It was a spectacular way to end my time in Niagara Falls, and I caught my last WEGO bus back to finish packing the last few things so I'd be ready to get up in not much more than 5 and a half hours, ...

... aspire to travel to but do not all get the opportunity - it's well worth it. The volume of water dropping over both falls is incredible and the sound it makes quite incredible. Of course, this does create a high level of mist that travels a fair distance into the town.

At night the falls are lit up in a range of colours which makes for quite a pretty sight.

The geography and history of Niagara falls offers some intrigue and I found it mildly amusing that ...
