Day 22 - Gatlingburg - Tennessee
Oh my it really is hillbilly country here and the flag flies proudly. Today I headed to Dollywood. I think Dolly is fantastic so don't want to say anything too bad, but the word lame continually sprung to mind. Doesn't mean I didn't giggle all day long, but alas it was more at rather than with. Day 21 - Gatlinburg - Tennessee
One last stop before I bid Kentucky farewell and that was at Daniel Boone National Forest to see the Cumberland Falls. In 1775 Daniel Boone led a group of men through the Cumberland Gap (a pass between the Appalachian Mountains) to widen the pass in order to make settlement into Kentucky and Tennessee easier. I've been alone in this car for eight hours Right now I'm wishing I didn't buy an aftermarket exhaust because after eight hours I can't hear at all. Right now I'm wishing I didn't eat that bean burrito fifty miles back, because we just passed the last rest stop for 100 miles. Right now I'm wishing I had packed something other than oatmeal cream pies and Mountain Dew for snacks. Speaking ...
Bagel stop!
... I had a normal sandwich and I had one of the bagel things. I don’t remember exactly what I got, but it was good. After that we just went on our way.

Beautiful time of year to be visiting!
... it (their second time, after they tried it for the first time last November in Kissimmee).
We learned during our visit that it was PEAK time to see the changing leaves, and they were GORGEOUS! (See my main blog picture for a great example of the colors...was ideal at the bottom of the mountains, but as we went up, the trees had already lost their leaves...)
