          ... things I saw or heard about were a military parade, and some classical concerts. Of course, every single person - either Latvian or Russian-speaking - was wearing a little Latvian flag pin. And, of course, o Lativan celebration is complete without a big fireworks show. So in the evening, the entire population of Riga gathered on the bank of the river Daugava to admire a (disappointingly short) display of lovely fireworks in National colours.
