... a lovely, mature-aged lady by the name of Diania (pronounced Dee-aaa-nee-uh...LOL). After bemusing me with her photo album of pictures of Hollywood icons and personalities, she had convincingly signed me up for a Movie Stars Tour. Business must be pretty slow this time of year as I got the 2-hr tour for US$20, which is advertised for US$50. Well, I was happy with $20, after all, it was essentially a 2 hr drive around Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Hollywood Hills seeing all the 'sites' ...

... to have some lunch. Only down side was that we arrived at 5pm ish LA time and once again it would've been 8pm Miami time meaning kids will be very tired. Chlo didn't eat a lot at all just some chips and for once James ate all his hotdog. I hate day flights and this one was one of the most painful I've got to admit. American Airlines is a budget airline therefore no in-flight entertainment and only drinks served unless you buy. James ...

... in there was no chance of us leaving and so we ended up eating at the hotel restaurant. For dinner I made another attempt at a Phillly cheesesteak and Nikki tried a corned beef sandwich. Both were pretty good and even better since we only had to walk 2 minutes from our room. After dinner we had an early night to be fresh for our trip to Auckland the next night.

... do is another thing) and went our separate ways. It was a cool little town to visit and is home to UCLA (University College Los Angeles) which is the biggest uni in LA and one of the top ones in America. So it's quite a vibrant place with lots of students, bars, restaurants and shops. We cheekily managed to hop on the bus (not at the allocated stop) to head back towards Beverly Hills as we met Dais's cousin for a drink on Melrose Avenue.

... another day that did not disappoint - the full on LA experiences kept coming and coming. The day was hot and we lathered up with full factor sun screen at the gate and headed for another studio tour....but it was not like the last one! We had full on special effects - water, fire, 4D totally immersive cinema as well as retro historical info about the lot - very impressive and I have to admit to feeling somewhat sick after King Kong-particularly after the second time ...
