Today we visited the Vermont ski museum. I learned about two main things: Perry Merril, known as "The Man Who Put Vermont on Skis", and the 10th Mountain division, a ski unit in World War II. Perry Merrill Perry Merrill was a forester who believed in public use of public land. He was appointed State Forester in 1930. I met Wayne and Dave, two cyclists from Canada who were doing the Green Mountain Loop route. We stopped on the road ...

... while the steam rose in the air above me. This campsite was so original and great. I love when you can tell that this is the owner's passion, and they have put a lot of care into it. I met his wife, Emma, and petted their two mini donkeys. They also had two Italian greyhounds, which is my favorite dog breed. I set up camp in the middle of their huge grassy yard. The views of the forested hills and mountains was amazing. This was a great camping ...

    ... for some fun moments.

Portions of the interior are being renovated. I found the Assembly and Senate Chambers but I could only go into the Senate Chamber on a tour. I was surprised to find a pair of gates by the metal artist Albert Paley outside the Senate Chambers.

I caught the next tour. We went to the Assembly and Senate Chambers, the Great West Staircase, the Executive Chamber, the ...
