... Ibis, so another few minutes was spent driving around looking for that. Once checked in, we settled into the bar for a team chat before people headed off in several directions for a look around or out for dinner. Ian, Warwick and I head off for Victoria Street and share a meal in a Thai restaurant. Back at the hotel I find that I have the room to myself as it was originally booked for Colin Cooke ...

... then Tina and Kevin drop us at the airport. It is all self check-in here, scan the passport and we are recognised immediately. Seats assigned, boarding pass printed we are off home again. Immigration was easy, they have a new electronic scanning system. You stand still while the device takes a picture of you and confirms with your passport - very clever. The flight boards on time and away we go. The flight home is with Air New Zealand - a step ...

I'm beginning to see how this works. I get to write about a fairly tedious journey from Napier to Wellington, Barbara is able to wax lyrical about the wildlife in Kaikoura. I have another fairly lengthy trip in the car to report, Barbara.....well, you'll have to wait for the next entry.

Barbara has been driving me round the bend all holiday, but today it is my turn to negotiate the twists and turns of New Zealand's highways.. To ...
