... at night does not provide much relief from the heat, and the bugs are terrible! We uped our protein for the day by swallowing many bugs. We found a church yard in Forrest City that gave us protection from the street, but, as we found out in the morning, not from chiggers. F.Y.I, chiggers are tiny little bugs that bite you and make you want to scratch your skin ...

Zuerst habe ich Longwood besucht. Das Haus ist in Form eines Oktagon gebaut und wurde kurz vor Ausbruch des Krieges begonnen. So war dann auch nur der unterste Stock ausgebaut und da es inzwischen unter Schutz steht wird's auch nie mehr fertig :-( Schade eigentlich ;-)

... nichts.
Dann tauchten auf unserem Navi ploetzlich viele Wuerfelsymbole auf, mit denen wir zunaecht ueberhaupt nichts anfangen konnten. Es stellte sich heraus, dass rund um Tunica ein Glueckspielzentrum entstehen soll. Es gab auch einige Hotels, die lagen aber immer soweit auseinander, dass in keiner Weise ein Flair wie in las Vegas ...

All in all, thoroughly recommended.
We did do other things while in Memphis; our first evening was spent on Beale St, the centre of Blues and rock and roll in the south, all bright lights and blues bands in the street. The police block the street off, which makes it great to walk around and soak in the atmosphere.

To Tunica: The GPS, The Time and The Money
... wondering about the whole “world famous concept”.
We had desserts. I had the Pecan dish which made sense because the Pecan is huge out in these parts and Kevin had the banana bread pudding which was ridiculous. We got to the hotel sufficiently wiped out but, still managed to get some gambling in.
The people were so different at this casino. Lots of working class folks just dying to spend their dough ...
