While Maggie showered I checked the engine. All was okay except the alternator belt needed a slight tightening. I showered while Maggie readied the boat for travel. We got underway at 0930 and almost immediately fell in behind a tug and two helpers moving two big cranes and some big yellow cylindrical tanks. ... I toughed out the wetness to hurry the trip south as a major cold system is due to hit Friday. The sooner we get south the better. As today wore on we paid the price for sleeping in. Missed the 1000 opening of Onslow Beach bridge and lost 1/2 hour. Because of this delay we also missed the 1300 opening at Surf City bridge.
