... historical information about the island.

Continuing on around the island we came to a lookout. What a nice view! The weather has been cloudy so far on this trip, but that has helped to keep us cool while we hiked. Very close to our starting point, we walk down the hill, back to the dinghy dock.
There are John and Janet way out on the spit, walking slowly back toward the dock as well. John is carrying his coat and shoes. He has ...

Once I stopped being terrified, I asked Captain Al if our boat could flip over and he reassured me that it would not. The keel (the part under the boat that keeps it upright) weighs 4,000 pounds. Now I understand the term "keel over" and am thankful not to have experienced it firsthand!

We motor the rest of the way to Sidney Island Marine Park where we are going to moor. Janet and I are sent to the front of the boat with a long pole that has ...

Ahhhhhhhhh We spent the afternoon exploring the town and enjoying the facilities of our hotel. Lunch was hotdogs and sodas! Smoothie arranged a room service meal for the boys and took me to an Oyster Bar for dinner. We tried 10 different varieties of Oyster! I didn't even know there was more than 2! Yummy! ... and I was keen to do it while the sun was shining, so to speak. Winnipeg and surrounds could have my weekends and an odd long weekend until years end, but now was the time to travel if I wanted to see far away places. I'd made another friend in the next building, Janis, by meeting at a local church a few months ago, and we clicked really well together from the start. She's a very friendly, positive and upbeat kind of person to be around. When travelling, it's great to ...

This morning we took the 9 am ferry, which leaves just a few kilometres down the road from Bunny, to Vancouver. Really nice, spacious car ferry, and today a very smooth ride! Her ex-husband Mike Clark met us where the ferry docks at ...
