June 1st-Sunday—I slept in this morning and decided this would be a stay at home in my pj's day!! Just laid around all day, reading, games on computer and played with the cats. Everyone needs days like this now and then!!!

Packing up camp this morning seemed to be a bit of a task because it was cold and wet outside. We had a big drive planned for the day so we wanted to get an early start. Our first stop was a quick grocery shop at Walmart so we could stock up on food and also on warm weather gear preparing for when we go through Canada. We continued driving on towards silver falls state park which was our overnight stop. We ate lunch at a rest stop just off the side of the highway ...

... as well. They gave me the Yellow Fever, flu, polio, and tetanus booster vaccinations. 2 shots in each arm! Also received a bottle of Cipro to use if I get a stomach bug, and a script for Malaria pills.....wooowee expensive. I got them the other day at the travel clinic, and man were my arms sore for the next few days. All better now, and that much closer to being ready to go!

... disappointed with our choice of routes. The Willamette Valley is beautiful. Meandering along 99W, located several miles west of I-5 gives us a new perspective of what we had mostly seen at a distance. We travel by farms, farm houses, outbuildings. They are no longer a speck on the horizon. Traveling this route brings them up close and personal...... ahhhhh, life is great!
