We have spent the last four days in LA, best described as a sunny, mixed bag. We first arrived on Wednesday and quickly gave in to jetlag, in the following days we have experienced the Metro system, went on a guided tour of Hollywood, saw a Lakers game, went to Venice and Santa Monica Beach and sunbathed next to our mini-motel pool.
day was our first proper day in the US. We started by walking to the
coast, thankfully it was the perfect temperature because of the ocean
breeze. We walked through main stree El Segundo and then reached the
sea. We then walked (in flip flops!!) up to Venice Board Walk which
we thought would be about three or four miles …
... wonder which rich and/or famous people lived in them. I wish we could have parked along the way so I could have snapped some photos...it must be nice to have that much disposable income!
We arrived mid-afternoon to our airbnb. We had a supper date with a lady who had couchsurfed with us a few years ago who I'd kept in touch with via email. It was nice to see her again, meet her dogs and cats and see her home, ...
... was struggling in his jandals as he is not used to walking in them. We stopped at the Puma shop and bought him some sweet shoes. Ate lunch at a cool place called The Misfit. Had surf and turf nik niks and a lovely cocktail named a Bees Knees, Court had a Slightly spiked lemonade. Awesome spicy food. We wandered a few more shops and then split up with the Murray's taking the car and Court and I took Mackie to Pacific Park on the pier. Rode the Ferris wheel and the ...
... Oh and who could forget the many "smoke stores" where you can find everything you need to make your marijuana smoking experience an ultimate high. Other than stopping to buy myself a new pair of sunnies we cycled pretty quickly through that section of the beach moving along towards muscle beach.
