We're in the quaint little town of Williams which is the sort of jump off point for the Grand Canyon excursions. The hotel we stayed in has the reputation of being the oldest hotel in Arizona.

We chose here as we really want to experience nature at it's best. The pictures I've seen so far are awesome.

... holiday in Las Vegas and then came back. Las Vegas does not feel like or represent what the rest of America is like at all. Like Florida and perhaps, I suspect LA (we shall see) this is just a tourism machine. ... all his questions we continued on our way, and the next nine mile section of road into Oatman is made up of 121 curves, sorry, make that narrow curves...!!! Elaine wasn't too happy with this and spent a good bit of the time with her nose in her book rather than look over the very steep drops on her side of the car. It was worth it though, Oatman is a quirky place, it was one of the many mining towns that used to be around these parts ...

... have 4 lanes (2 on each side) and you never knew which line starts. We saw a second line forming so we pulled in and waited and Terry walked around looking at the cars. It was unbelievable the cars, custom street rods, muscle cars, original old cars pulling small tear drop trailers and everyday cars and trucks. The start came and the corvettes started out and then our line. All along the way people were sitting on roadside on tailgates or chairs and ...
