We went into town on a Free bus service that Simon discovered existed , and what a delightful town ,so pretty and charming with a mixture of Mexican and Spanish architecture wonder The stars come here to relax ...a fabulous meal and cocktails ,a drink at a bar more friendly encounters from locals and it was time for bed ...ahhhhhh couldn't wait to go to the dream bed for a good nights sleep .....pool day tomorrow !     Later in the morning, Gin and I rendezvoused 'avec famille' at the Moorten Botanical cactus garden not 50 feet from the hotel where the rest of my family were staying.     ... and they are everywhere. After talking to the park rangers, we learnt that there are several god campsites within the park. and for $10 a night, whats not to love? again, the stunning desert sunsets leave us speechless, and the fire we have in our pit is just the tonic in the cold desert (that and the bottle of red wine we are polishing off !!) a peaceful and tranquil nights sleep sees us sleeping in til 8am!! peace and quiet works wonders!!

    ... Amazing place; samples to help you choose your flavours, serve yourself add any toppings then its all priced on weight. Our family creation was pink lemonade and orange sorbet in a mixed whirl with white chocolate drops and raspberries on top - it was yummy.

    All the shops have the mist sprays shooting out thankfully so we make a beeline past those. To start with Dylan won't join us. He finally explains that it's steam which is hot and he's too ...

    ... shanty town. Now we can't talk much about shanty town but what we can say is it was our little sanctuary from the baking hot sun. SJ was adamant she wanted to go into the festival early afternoon. AK wanted to stay with our new found friends but went into the festival with SJ. We got about 10 minutes across the field and had to sit in the shade of a giant plant because SJ was getting dizzy with the heat! It so unbelievably hot that it took our breath ...
