... including the Governor's suite and the Presidential suite complete with a secret room. The suites were unbelievably old west and looked great - the door to the secret room was a library case which sprang open with a flick of something! We really wanted to stay here but will certainly do so in the future because it was so unusual. Back to the saloon and we pinned a 20 Turkish Lira Note to the ceiling with our names on to ...

Stop in Palm Springs: on not planned stop to get a gas cap and some oil.

Driving through the desert: Is a lot of fun… you see sand, and more sand… some shrubs, some mountains oh and more sand, stones and sand, and Giant cactus…… the best signs are “Rest area closed to constructions" – which we encountered ...

Woke up to the sound of the alarm today as we wanted to be up early as today we were setting out on our second and longest leg of our drive along California state highway 1 from Monterey to Santa Barbara. We grabbed an early breakfast downstairs in reception which wasn't the best of the trip so far but the waffle making machine was good fun and my effort tasted acceptable. Breakfast did take a little ...
