... lost another hour yesterday, so we are a tad behind. On the road by 10:38am. Thought about backing into the noisy tent a couple of times... Stopped for a quick bite of lunch at the exit to The Elliot lake. It used to be a great place to stop but now it is so run down. The trees and shrubs are either dying or growing across the entranceway, making it harder than usual to manoeuvre our big rig into and out of the spot. There was once a sort of demonstration swamp ...

We had a slow start to our day after a night with little sleep. We had a big breakfast together and then got organized for the day. We headed to the boat, stopping to borrow life jackets from Killbear for Brenda and Rob. It took a while to get all of our supplies and all of our passengers to the boat. Some people swam and the rest were ferried on the stand up paddle board. We were finally underway at about 1:30.

We had a very late lunch on the boat which was lucky because Brenda and Rob ...

We had a slow morning in Franklin Bay, swimming, reading books and just hanging out. We ate an early lunch and headed out.
Our first stop was Snug Harbour for some ice and ice cream.
We then headed out to the bay. James assured me that the water was much calmer than we had previously experienced and he was right! We headed straight out to some outer buoys and then got on a course ...

... and Lucas paddled the board by himself with a backpack on! He didn't fall and safely got to shore. It's actually quite a distance and is challenging when the wind is blowing so we were very proud of him.
We saw two snakes on the island today. One was a big garter snake. But the other looked very much like the Massasauga Rattlesnake. We didn't have our camera out for that one, and didn't want ...
