... pick in Syracuse (see Bethany's post) we let them watch a movie on our way to the hotel. Total screen time for today, 2 hours. Some dinner from Wegman's, water bottles refilled and we adventured out to see the falls at night.

The rain poured on our drive over to the falls, but as we pulled in the sky cleared. We enjoyed the low numbers of visitors and the perfect views as we waited for the lights to turn on. In the cool air we didn't last much later ...

... today. It reminded me of a small Las Vegas with casinos, locations for weddings, wax museums; Ripley’s Believe it or Not museum, and bright lights. In 1901, Mrs. Anne Taylor a 63 yr old school teacher was the first person to go over the falls in a barrel. My information didn’t state if her students put her in the barrel, or she was just fed up. If it was due to her students they were disappointed 3 hours later when she was fished out, very much alive.

It is considered "fossil" water as about 95% is left over melt water from the great ice age glaciers and is non-renewable.
