It was a great weekend for the Virginia State Fair!

... an almost completely dark room and Volcano goes in and out of a mountain like a volcanic explosion. We finished up the coasters hitting Avalanche, Ghoster Coaster, and Dominator. Which is just as well, as I am running out of letters in the alphabet to complain with.

Tomorrow I'm off to Albuquerque for an IB training session (assuming that the shuttle can get me BACK to the airport in finite time). Not much will happen this week that is report-worthy, but Tim comes out on Friday, when the training is over, and we will launch into the fun part of the trip. More anon.

Tim drove me to the airport this afternoon and dropped me off about 3:00, an hour and a half before my flight (to Chicago, because that's the most direct route to London, naturally). Despite all the wonders of modern technology, I had to stand in line to check in, because when I tried to check-in online (as recommended by the airline) last night, I got a message saying that I could not check in online, because the airline needed evidence of my return date.
