Lunch at Harpers Ferry where the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers converge, as do the states of West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland. A very old and historic town - could ramble for hours.

Travelled via the pretty Catoctin Mountain area. We have had some great drives through the countryside, getting off the highways when we can.

It was a great weekend for the Virginia State Fair!

We are normally up in Maine on Columbus Day weekend enjoying the Fryeburg fair. This year we spent it at the Virginia State fair. I have to say it doesn't even come close to all that goes on at the Fryeburg fair when it comes to the agricultural exhibits, at least not this year. ... an almost completely dark room and Volcano goes in and out of a mountain like a volcanic explosion. We finished up the coasters hitting Avalanche, Ghoster Coaster, and Dominator.
