Sea Days - living in a bubble

Sea days are an alternate reality. The real world rarely intrudes and you can do, within the confines of the ship, as little or as much as you want. We had 2 sea days on the way to Ponta Delgada in the Azores followed by 6 more sea days to Florida. We had a slight deviation as we needed to go to Bermuda to take a passenger off the ship who required immediate medical assistance. The captain reported a couple of days later that the patient was recovering well.

This time we didn’t have that much time, but we luckily found a shower (a very, very hot one) and some desperately needed breakfast. ...

... security and sat down at the first place we found to have something to eat.... Unfortunately it was bloody awful and my stomach wouldn't let me have more than about 2 bites... Had nothing to do with the fact I hadn't slept and had been drinking all night! Oh and I walked past a place selling accessories so I managed to pick up a lovely cover for my brand new iPad too! We were only at the gate for about 5 minutes (but it felt like 30) ...

... grunt of a word answer. As we were coming up the street towards our hotel, we soon became aware that we were going to head right past it and onto the bridge over to Fort Lauderdale Beach area. We quickly drew this to his attention and he argued with us, saying that we had told him we wanted to go to the Hyatt (wrong...clearly his mind was not on the job). It was too late, by now we were heading over the bridge. I mentioned to him that shouldn't he shut ...
