The Favourite Part of This Trip

... had lots of expenses ahead of us.

We managed to cross into Tennessee for lunch and stopped at Jellico for fuel and lunch. Before this trip I was unaware that diesel costs more than gasoline in the States. A salad at Wendy's did the trick for lunch and then we drove through the beautiful fall colors of the mountains. There are also lots of Sycamore trees alongside the highway. Their leaves look somewhat like Maple leaves but their ...

... It was beautiful! We just left Waynesville NC where we spent some time with our friends Flagg and Carole. This area is just amazing. Everywhere you look you are surrounded by the beautiful Smoky Mountains. While there we visited the Biltmore Estate in Ashville and loved it. We are spending the night in Forsythe GA then on to White Springs Fl. We will be home either Tues or Wed after four great months on the road and lots of ...

So I need to pack my wedding dress, tux, and more. Can you believe our photographer never got any pictures of US together at our wedding last year? So I am making sure we get some together this time. We are traveling alone so hopefully a good samaraten will take creative pics. We also bought a new camera and ...

Arrived yesterday in the pouring rain. Had spent the day doing general store with grist mill in Helen. Did a great hike to Ruby Falls. Went on to Clayton. Visited the Main St Gallery but the right Folk Art wasn't there - some cute birds and a gourd turkey - but not quite right. Had a dynamite lunch in a new restaurant called Fortify and then headed south. Drove through the pour in rain and arrived at the KOA. Had "lovely" take-out from Wendy's and turned in early. Had ...

... What next?! We made Ocala by 10, felt we were doing well until Oops! A flat on the trailer of a mile from Gainesville. We were cursing our neighbor (he used our jack last), but Bob managed to change the tire and soon we were at Firestone purchasing a new tire. The GA state line appeared by noon; at about the 150mm, a 100-ft. sign read: "I was anti-Obama before it was cool." Sign of the times? Next came a ...
