After almost 8 hours on the road we finally made it to Escanaba and our lodging for the night: Sunset Lodge, an independent locally owned motel. They were very welcoming of us and our hounds. A late night bite at Hudsons Bar and Grill and fast asleep. The next morning we woke and did some work before hitting the road around 10:30a to St ...

She turned out to be Linda, the unofficial 'mayor' of Baileys Harbor, who knows everyone and everything. She sort of took me under her wing that first night, telling me where to go and what to see and has checked in with me each evening ...

... stock up on groceries, since I've rented a cabin here in Baileys Harbor, and experienced my second beer room. room (or cave, as the Pic 'n Save called it). The first was yesterday, when I stopped at the gas station to pick up some beer. The cooler was small and didn't have much selection, and then I noticed the double doors leading to the Beer Room. Yes, an entire walk-in cooler devoted to beer. I think I will like it here.
