May 23 was a stormy day in Joplin, Montana. In the photo, Don is passed by an 18-wheeler carrying an 83-ft long windmill blade. The windmills will be so huge that the container for the generators that will sit atop the windmills will be as large as a railroad car.

Havre, Montana, United States lifejourney... guard took the paperwork while a second one was opening trunks and checking the undersides of vehicles with a mirror on a stick. We didn't have a trunk so she poked around the bed of the truck. There was a tense moment when she came up with one of our diamond willow sticks, but the guard behind the glass recognized it as diamond willow and said, "It's ok." Whew. No threatened arrests, no bribes were necessary, and we were soon rollin' down highway 15 in Montana.

In ...

Malta, Montana, United States duedate... like a pretty tough little town at first glance.

The RV park was okay but nothing to write home about. RV park residents could use the indoor pool at the Best Western hotel and the small poker machine casino attached but we decided not to. I prefer other types of slot machines to the poker only type.

We ordered a pizza from Pizza Hut, talked with our Rv neighbors from Wisconsin then made an early night of it. Tomorrow we go to Medora, N.D.

Havre, Montana, United States rayandchristaOh Jackson deserved more time then we gave it. I think Robb and I both agreed we need a week next time. Pulling into town late the night before we were slow to rise in the morning to get out skiing. I was very happy with our luxurious accomodations at the Motel 6 where we stayed for 3 nights for $100. The snow was great....at least by our standards being from California. The locals might have thought the snow was too wet and that it was to warm outside....but to us the snow was fluffy ...
