Some of you may know this, but US Highway 2 runs parallel to the BNSF tracks. OK, the tracks disappear here and there, but they're usually in sight. Today as we were driving we saw an endless procession of trains, mostly going east. I even stopped to photograph a few. Tonight we're in Havre, MT. We awoke in Kalispell to a lovely river scene. We began our trek across the Glacier National Park Conservancy. First, though, we had to visit a place Brian and I had camped when we were in our 20s, the Hungry Horse Dam. It was good to see that little had changed.

... like everyone is worried about their cars being stolen as there are lots of car alarms going off! We have free wifi from SAMs Club next to Walmart but unfortunately the iPad battery is dying off. It's always something!

We both had nice showers and are feeling much more human. Dinner was a grab bag of leftovers and snacks.

Lots of trains that sounded like they were close enough to hit us last night! I had a good sleep anyways ...

I woke up drained. The stomach bug in Essex followed by the Smorgasbord day and then the long ride into Havre had added up. Fortunately, when I awoke from 13hrs sleep, the wind was blowing directly into my face which meant it would be more than foolhardy to cycle the mere 90m to Malta. Instead I decided to cycled 20m to Chinook. I could have had a day off but I thought I would be grateful the next day to only have 70m to cycle rather than 90m. Unfortunately, though it was ...
