      ... my way with my very unused French that somehow managed to merge with Spanish to become some weird fusion of languages (This was definitely better than when I was trying to learn Spanish and I kept mixing my sentences with Japanese!). I knew enough to successfully procure a donut for both me and Ben from Tim Horton's. This place is like the McDonald's of Canada, so I was excited to visit this establishment:)

      ... pond . . No Ciclismo Classico this year so we are taking our own bikes . . . So . .. They are all packed away! We have begun to pack our suitcases . . Fun to finally be embarking on this adventure that we have been planning for the past year. My next entry will come from wherever we first get internet service! :-)

      ... take one of the four of us!! I have posted that! He was an interesting guy with a very strong Scottish accent! Quite charming! "Oh, if you don't like this weather, there is something wrong with yah!!'

      The berries are more like what we called huckleberries, much smaller than commercial blueberries. It was a nice stop. But, we had some more miles to make to get a little south of Bangor, Maine.

      ... Val's mom. Just as Val's dad had intimidated me all those years ago, her mom was always one of the favorite parents of my friends. She was always easy to talk to and helped me understand a little about relationships.

      We all piled into their boat and headed out onto the lake for a relaxing hour or so break. Alex, Rob and I got to go swimming in the water, which was refreshingly cool.

      Colby is one of oldest liberal arts colleges in country located in a town named Waterville. In Waterville I was starting to feel like I was getting up into a part of Maine that's more North Woods and less cutesy New England.
