      ... the car backwards away from the gate entrance and parked the car on the side of the road on the Canadian side. Ben spoke with the Canadian border patrol office to let them know what was going on.

      I thought, "No problem, we'll just call AAA using our iPhone which should have reception by now, right?" NOT!!!! There is no reception for 20 miles!

      ... at our hotel (a Hampton Inn), we got some dinner recommendations from the front desk and tried The Lobster Trap and Steakhouse in an adjacent town (Wilson), just across and on the Kennebec River. Gene has been hungry for clams and Carol wanted some clam chowder. They got both! The chowder was good; the claims not so much!! They were too large!! Carol and I also shared a 2# bag of mussels.       ... instrument clearance I had filed, but air traffic control had no record of it. We had to sit there for almost 10 minutes while we re-filed and then got the clearance. Eventually, we got our clearance and set off to the north east. We were actually in the clouds for about the first 15 minutes, then between layers for another 20.
