    ... s new school. We contacted the new principal, explained the situation. As he had no idea at the time how the schedule might look, or even if the school would be ready in time, he encouraged us to "enjoy the family time," and he pledged to work with us to get Anna into the school for a tour, (if at all possible), get her schedule, etc. Following a short family meeting, we agreed to go forward, and the countdown began.

    We left Greece at about 4:30 this morning. I think I was too tired to let myself get too sad, so at least that worked in my favor. We stopped in Germany for a three hour layover, so we got a couple souvenirs from the gift shop, got a snack from the German McDonalds, and then just swapped photos with each other while we waited.

    The flight seemed to take forever, but we finally made it home! ...
