    Time to leave L.A. and head to San Francisco. Got up went to USPS to post back a whole heap of stuff - $170 for two boxes. Oops think I need to limit the postage to one box only.     ... Insecticides are prohibited in the National Park System. They were less bothersome on the west side of the island where there was more wind.

    We made our way back to the dock swatting the flies, for our ride back to the city. The visit was wonderful and certainly a highlight of this vacation.

    After returning to San Francisco we walked to Pier 39 and enjoyed a nice lunch. We then walked back to the hotel. The rest of our day will be in the next blog.

    ... nice walk, first on a fire track and then single track and finally through the sand dunes.  As we got close there was a small educational area with whale bones, and the skulls of sea lions and elephant seals that the kids loved.
