We got up at 4.30am on the 3rd of April and went to bed at 11pm, over 40 hours later! Our first flight of the day was Christchurch to Aukland, which the 3 of us got with Avril and Joe. We were all exhausted and passed out for the whole flight - I didn't even realise we'd landed! We chilled in Aukland airport and got some breakfast before Jo's Auntie Jeanie came and picked us up. It was time for some emotional goodbyes, with ...

I set up next to the falls where I was just getting a ...

I've told myself everyday that "you only get one today" so I have made the most of each day and been as selfish, foolish and childish as I've wanted to be. This way when I look back I can never think to myself "I wish..." Or "what if..." etc. and I can know I'll never have any regrets because at the time I did exactly as I wanted to. To help me pursue ...

A travel day. I was on the bus just before midday, the YHA dropped three of us off in town before ten, for their own reasons, which gave me time to explore. Just round the corner from the bus stop in Whangerai was The Piggery, a large second hand book shop. I happily lost half an hour in there, wondering whether I fancied any New Zealand fiction (writers from the country, I think, rather than 'NZ is a large spaceship', 'NZ was sculpted by a golem and flipped precisely four times to ...

... and knowing that maybe, just maybe, their perspective on Deaf people has changed. I bloody love changing people's opinions on Deafness as a 'disability' and clocking up every time someone says 'Wow. I never really thought about that ...'. Because now I'm vaguely educated, I understand Deafhood, deafness and CODAhood and I know it's something to be so proud of. And if others think its weird ... Well, thats nice that they've established it at the start of me getting ...
