... for Joanne as she had wanted to
see some indigenioyus culture all the way around Oz. We then spent the rest of
the day with Lee and Amy (who we had stayed with a few times around the East
Coast), being the bargain hunter he is Lee had found a bar which promised $2
steak meals (about a quid) so we met them in the bar, turned out the $2 was only
for the steak and the rest (chips, cutlery, salad, veg, sauces etc) were extra
so his ...

... long! I was staying at the Crown Plaza in Surfer’s Paradise, the most touristy/popular beach. I went to walk around the beach for a while totally amazed! The weather was about 32 degrees on Sunday and 34 degrees on Monday, but not humid at all so the heat was just lovely! I walked around the beach for a while as well as the shops at Surfer’s Paradise, and took an Extreme JetBoat ride… awesome!!! The boat (which just very conveniently happened to be driven by a very ...

Until the day before we left Hawaii I had actually lost only 1 item as had Rosa – both hats (Thailand and San Francisco Bay).

... awake time in the water while Melanie was happily enjoying some "private" time on the beach, swimming in the olimpic pool and doing yoga (to make herself capable of standing Massimo for the rest of the trip). We then quickly visited Brisbane and Perth, where we managed to catch up with a guy we met in Bolivia (!!). We're now in Hong Kong, our next stop in Asia, looking forward for the third and last continent of our trip. Soon following M&M's in Asia.

Day 80 - Brisbane

Day 80 Sunday 22nd March - Brisbane Woke up and had a coffee and cereal bar for breakfast and then spent the day relaxing by the pool and catching some rays while it was nice. The sky was really clear for most of the day so I read a book and dipped in and out of the pool all day. Sam went for walk into the city to do some more shopping, she didn't want to take the car as the city was a nightmare to get around by car ...

... There is a huge sign like a gateway on Roma street saying Roma Parklands, however this is only a tiny piece of grass and gravel, not the "largets sub-tropical gardens" we were looking for. We walked around the corner and up a few streets and largely through guess work found where we needed to be. Along the way we found an interesting table, a very long way from a road that had a sign on 3 sides of it saying "Reserved for Tour Coaches". We sat down in the park by a ...

... tired to do crazy partying, but wasn't ready to call it a night so we went to this outdoor bar across the street from Adam's apartment the Royal Exchange. I ordered two pint glasses, then we quickly switched to pitchers --er jugs of beer as we realized pints wouldn't cut it. I lost count of how many Adam and I went through, but it was a lot. Our drunken conversations turned into incoherent ramblings, so we called it a night, stumbling back to his apartment a short walk away.
