We were bound start the day smiling, just because of the name of the harbour we were docked in....Nawiliwili Harbour on the island of Kauai.  Even the name is cute!   When we first started this cruise, I didn't really give much thought to the individual islands.  An island is just an island right?  They're all the same as each other.....but nothing could be further from the truth.  Each island that we've visited has been ...

Michael was quite a character. A 60 year old hippy who has lived on the island more than 40 years. He made notes all over our island map giving us loads of inside knowledge on secret beaches and places to eat. His best advice for one ...

... more lovely plane landings, with the mountains and ocean surrounding you before you land.

Because of the time change, we landed at around 9:30am, and made our way to the car rental counter. The Kauai airport is very small, with less than 10 gates, and it's very easy to navigate. We hopped on the rental car shuttle, got our Dodge minivan, and were on the road within 25 minutes of landing.

    Kauai is the oldest ...
