... mahi with rice and veggies. Our waiter brought us soy sauce and suggested we try it on our rice and then add pepper. It was delicious! Larry and Derek tried their NaPali Pale Ale in a pitcher. While we were having supper two of the televisions had the Merrie Monarch Festival on live. It is a hula competition with groups from Hawaii and California. When we got back to the cottage we turned it on our TV while we blogged and relaxed.

... Falls. After about six stream crossings and extremely muddy trail conditions, we finally made it to the magnificently ginormous Hanakapi'ai Falls. After snapping a few photos and taking it all in, we made our way back down the four miles to the trailhead. On our trek back, we crossed paths with thee William H. Macy (aka a celebrity!). No photos were taken, we let him enjoy his hike in peace. It was an amazing hike and so glad that I was able to do a section of the Kalalau Trail. ...

... for sure the second day. Amongst all the things we did for the three or so hours we were there, a couple of the highlights were...hiding nests in trees so the kids could find them, hiding a fake bird that had a tracking device attached to it and having the kids use the tracker to try and locate the bird, and then setting up nets to get an idea of how the KFBRP crew goes about catching birds. ... data entries, so I feel like this was my initiation into working with them. The coordinator, Cali, later talked with me about working with her and doing more things with children out in the community this coming week. I am very excited to get out and help more with their crew. She also hinted that she had a ton of friends who need babysitters and if I wanted to make some extra money, her friends would love to have me. Bonus!!
