    ... Lake book. Oh, he's a real photographer. For CL: "stop everywhere, do everything." Beyond the park, his recommendations provided a short-term roadmap for the trip, and the photography lessons opened up a new aperture for me. After a full day of exploring, we were in the gift shop looking at postcards. Nearby, I spotted a coffee-table style book - mostly photographs.     ... We aren't sure if it was the stress of the morning drive mixed with how hungry we were, or if everything was really that good, but trust us when we say we NEEDED that food. Pasta Piatti is HIGHLY recommended if you are ever checking out the area.

    Tomorrow, the weather is slated to improve throughout the region. We are planning to make it to Vancouver, WA, but as we have seen with the past two days- it all depends on what Mother Nature has up her sleeve.

    ... and an abundance of wildflowers. Did I ever mention thus far how huge the dandelions are? We reached the peak where we could see many mountains in the distance, including Mt Shasta (we think as it was obscured in smoke), downtown Ashland and the buildings near the condo, Emigrant lake, and two families of deer (mom with babies).     ... upriver so they could float home. Lick and I came back home to do dishes and walk down to the river's edge to take pictures of their return. It took nearly an hour for them to finally return. They sure had fun though. It was 100 degrees out by 5:45pm.
