Valentine's Day! While we didn’t plan for anything, we ended up having a wonderful Valentine’s Day! Waking up in a century-old hotel in the mountains, surrounded by snow. We had breakfast, then left our bags at the hotel while we walked into town. We trudged through snowy fields in our inappropriate shoes and looked at some deer hanging out in front of the hotel. The car rental company had advised that if I was driving into the mountains that I should go to Grand Lake which is on the edge of the Rocky Mountain national park. It was quite a drive through the mountains but again the scenery was amazing. The lake was surrounded by a small community who lived in mostly log cabins. ... Tracey's friend Heidi and her husband Tom who took us to a baseball game at Coors Ballpark. The Denver Rockies played the San Diego Padres. There was lots of razzmatazz but our favourite part was when the whole spectator crowd stood up for the 7th innings stretch and sang " Take Me Out to the Ball Game"

... This went on for what seemed like at least 10 more miles. We finally made it back to gravel roads, which I never expected to think of as a big improvement!
