... on our trek and shortly after saw a sign proudly exclaiming "SANDERS CAFE: Birthplace of KFC!" that stop was a no-brainer. ... a motel and café, where we holed up for the next three days. The kids loved it; swimming and TV. Everyone was very friendly there and really helped us. So we were excited to come back and see Tifton. We stayed at the KOA in Tifton. They have a lot more gnats now than I remember. Also, the town has grown into a megalopolis. Ah, the wheels of progress.

Anyway, it was nice to see it ...

Rained like pouring tea out of a boot last night. A real frog strangler and still coming down as we departed. So much for warm sunny weather.

... trouble we will find in Reno. Thursday and Friday will be bowling days - the real reason for our trip. I'm a little nervous that the healing foot will let me down but I have vowed to have a great time no matter what!! Saturday, I think we pack and head back to Sacramento....I don't even know for sure. Mike is the planner and I just fly by the seat of my pants and enjoy the scenery! Maybe one reason we are so great together! And sometime early Sunday ...

Day 20 - Everything's peachy

Peachy, as in Georgia, As in where I am now. As in the 8th and final state on this journey. Rolled over the state line around noon. Man, was I glad to see that welcome sign. I can almost see the end. Covered 131 miles today, right about 160 left to the beach. Probably do 120 tomorrow, an easy 40 early on Wednesday, and home late Wednesday night. Unless I get eaten by a dog.
